Pilgrimage & Tours
Depart after breakfast for transfer to the border between Israel and Jordan. After crossing the border at the Allenby Bridge, the group will be met by a local tour guide and proceed by deluxe motorcoach to the ancient city of Madaba, best known for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. Also in Madaba at the Church of St. George we will view a mosaic with the earliest surviving map of the Holy Land. We will continue about 10 km to Mount Nebo, from where Moses stood and viewed the Promised Land. Drive to our hotel in Petra.
After breakfast we will walk through the “Siq,” an immense crack in the Nubian sandstone, to the ancient red rock city of Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, capital of the Nabateans from the 3rd century B.C. to the 2nd century A.D. Visit the most interesting carved monuments, such as the Treasury, the field of tombs and the altar. From this point you can overlook the rock city. Drive back to Amman for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast you will be transferred to Amman airport for a flight back home.
